Hello & Thank You

We cannot even begin to understand what you are going through right now or how difficult this must be. What we do know is that we have the utmost respect for you, and we admire your selflessness and courage. We would also like to say thank you for considering us, and taking time to learn about us and our lives.

My husband, Chris, and I have been trying to have a baby for many years. After going through two years of infertility treatment, I finally became pregnant, and within a few weeks I suffered a miscarriage. Six months later, it happened again. We understand what it is like to suffer losses, and to appreciate what we have. Our experience also made us realize that it was more important for us to be parents than it was for me to be pregnant, and we decided to go through the adoption process.

Chris and I have been together for fourteen years and married for ten. We met in 2003 in the cafeteria while both working at the Department of Veterans Affairs. We began talking and spending time together, and realized we had a lot of overlapping interests. Our friendship turned into a relationship and we got engage in 2005 and married in 2007. We have a loving and supportive relationship built on a foundation of honesty and trust. We understand the value of listening, respecting each other, and trying to see situations through each other’s prospective. In addition to providing unconditional love, it is with these values that we hope to rear a child.

Chris and I also believe that life is made up of shared experiences. We have always tried to experience as much of life as possible together. A part of each year is dedicated to travel much of it international so as to witness, first-hand, as many cultures, places, and people as possible. Our formal education has provided opportunities for us, and we would stress the importance of scholarship, regardless of the field, to our child. It is through education that I became a lawyer and began working as an Army attorney. Education also opened up many opportunities for Chris, including becoming an international distance runner and a published author. We have been fortunate that, through experience, travel, and education, we have enriched our lives; likewise, we want our child to experience the world, and all it has to offer.

But more than anything else, your child will be the recipient of limitless love, a home of respect and honesty, and an environment that will help develop personal strength and self-worth. We will do everything within our power to provide your hopes and dreams for perpetual happiness. We cannot thank you enough for taking the time to consider us.

We wish you all the best,

Chris & Kristine
