Dear Birth Parent(s)

Thank you for taking a few moments to get to know our family.  After eight years of marriage, our family consists of Seth, Jana and our two energetic sons, Dillon who is five and Chad who is four.  We hope that through this letter you will clearly see that our home is one of love and security – a home that is both prepared and excited to welcome a child through adoption.

Why we want to Adopt

We have known for a long time that our family is not yet complete, so when we found out that we would not be able to have any more biological children we immediately began the adoption process.  You see, Jana’s brother was adopted from Korea when she was just a toddler.  She learned firsthand the blessings and happiness that adoption can bring to a family – her brother brought happiness to her home that simply wasn’t there before.  Because of Jana’s brother, the decision to adopt came easy.  He taught us that, without a doubt, differences in family members do not affect how we love one another.  We are ready to welcome the happiness that comes from adoption into our home just as Jana’s family did so long ago.

Seth

Our family couldn’t have asked for more from a husband and father.  Seth provides for our family working as a Financial Planner for MetLife – which he has grown to truly enjoy.  When at home, Seth’s either playing catch or Frisbee with Dillon and Chad, or getting the bikes ready for a family ride.  And Friday and Saturday nights are always spent with Jana – whether we’re out on a date or simply watching a movie after the boys are in bed.  If spare time does come his way, though, he loves to build and fly model airplanes, play basketball, or go snowmobiling in the Rocky Mountains.   Seth is a family man – through and through.  The best interests of his family are always his priority.

Jana

Staying at home with the kids is Jana’s full-time job, but in between household chores and running them to and from schools Jana’s favorite activity is gardening.  Her most memorable moments are listening to the boys play in the yard while she diligently digs in the dirt.  Jana’s greatest joy is found in the company of her family.  Not a day goes by where she hasn’t read a story to the kids, laughed with her three men or handed out a million hugs and kisses.  God has given her two of life’s greatest adventures – marriage and motherhood.

Dillon and Chad

If they are sharing, Dillon and Chad are the best of friends.  When Dillon’s not in school, they are always together.  Dillon is lucky to attend a very diverse elementary school with equal numbers of Hispanic, white and African-American students.  Chad attends preschool twice a week, which makes him feel like a big boy.  Education is a priority in our house – we are already saving in their college funds and will do so for our future child, as well.  Overall, Dillon and Chad simply can’t wait to be big brothers for a new baby – they keep asking when “their baby” is coming and pray for “their baby’s” health every night.

What we will Provide

We will successfully provide our child with every material need – a home, college education, presents every Christmas and birthday, warm clothes, a backyard to play in, and the list goes on.  But far more important than material needs, we will provide a strong, secure and loving family, which is the greatest gift we can give to our children.  Our prayer is that when our kids look back on their childhood they realize two things: one, that their parents loved them, and, two, that their parents loved each other.  We truly believe families are forever.  We are working hard to instill the value of family within Dillon and Chad and will do the same for our future child.

Our Sincerest Thank You

It is our love of family that causes us to sincerely THANK YOU for your selfless and courageous decision.  While we will never truly know the challenges and struggles that you are now facing, we want you to know that your sacrifice will never be forgotten.  Jana is forever grateful to the courageous woman who gave her brother both the gift of life and the gift of family.  And just like her brother’s birthmother, our child’s birthmother will always be spoken of with HONOR and GRATITUDE.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know our family.  We whole-heartedly wish you the best as you make your difficult decision.  If you have any questions for us, please give us the opportunity to answer them.

With best wishes and much appreciation,

Seth & Jana
