Dear Birth Parent(s),
First of all we want to thank you for reading our letter; it means a lot to both of us. We will try, as best we can, to describe our life and give you insight to our hearts and why we do desperately want to be parents. We met almost eight years ago at a mutual friends wedding. We quickly become best friends, then fell madly in love, and have been happily married for five years now. The blessing of a child would fulfill our dreams and complete our family.
I, Dru, was raised in a very loving family and my parents have been married for over 30 years. I have a younger brother, Casey, who works for an oil company and a beautiful baby sister, Brandy, who is in her first year of college. I hope that I have been a good role model for the both of them- I have always tried to set good examples for them and I am very proud of them both. We love to have my grandparents over and bar-b-que and make homemade ice cream- that’s my mom's specialty. My parents taught me many things and one of them was to set goals and work hard to achieve them. I have a very good career that I love getting up and going to every day and I feel financially secure at this point in my life. Graduating from college with a degree in Agricultural Services and Development was my first great achievement, marrying Britanni was my second, and adoption a baby will be OUR greatest achievement ever.
I, Britanni, feel like I was born to be a mom. My parents have been married for almost 30 years and they have been the perfect example of what a mom and dad should be. They are loving, caring, and very supportive. My younger sister, Callie, and I used to fight like cats and dogs, but we are now best friends. She has been married for a year and is in her last year of graduate school. Family always comes first with us and we treat everyone with respect and pass no judgment on others. I have a Business Degree and I’ve had a wonderful career for 5 years with a great company who allows me to work from home most of the time. My greatest achievement was marrying Dru and adopting a baby will be OUR “over the top” achievement of our lifetime.
Six months after we were married we bought our first home, where we still live today. It is a beautiful home that sits on 2 acres a few miles out of town. Our home has three bedrooms, two baths, and a great open family room, kitchen, dining area. It is warm and comfortable and the “welcome mat” is always out. We have a great yard where we like to grill and entertain. It will be wonderful having children running around and playing in it. We love to do things together like cooking, yard work, fishing and exploring new places. We are involved in our community as we feel it is necessary to be very involved, also, in our children’s school and will support them in all their activities whether it is sports, educational, or just everyday fun things. Our parents where always there for us (even when we didn’t want them to be sometimes in our teenage yearsJ) and we plan to be there for our kids.
After we were married for about a year, we knew we were ready to start a family. We tried everything we could for two years, but had no success. It was devastating for us because we desperately wanted to have a baby to nurture and watch grow. We talked and prayed with our family and we feel the Lord has a plan for us and we feel that His plan is for us adopt a beautiful baby and love him or her for the rest of our lives. Our families are very supportive and are filled with optimism, joy, anticipation, and much excitement at the prospect of bringing a child into our lives. We will also provide a very strong cultural and spiritual background as well as strong educational values.
We are so excited about adopting a child. You are giving the most precious gift a person can ever imagine. It means so much to us since we are not able to have children of our own. We have so much love to give a child and feel adoption will give us that opportunity to share our love and life. We were raised by great parents that taught us so many things and we would love to share these values with our child. It’s hard to express in words how much this means to us and what a precious gift this is.
Life is a journey and we pray for a son or daughter to share our journey with. We appreciate you considering us.
God Bless,
Dru & Britanni |
