A look Into Our Life

Our Extended Families

Adoption is a huge part of both of our families and everyone is eager to welcome another child into our family. Megan has 6 siblings (4 of whom are married), 8 nieces/nephews and 22 first cousins. Her parents, 1 sister and many of her cousins and their families live in the same city. Dave’s parents both live about 1.5 hours away.  He has 2 siblings, both of whom are married. We enjoy 2 different family vacations every year: one with Megan’s parents, siblings and the children and another with Dave’s family. Every other year we also vacation with Megan’s entire extended family including her parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and all of the children.

We have weekly family dinners with Megan’s siblings and parents and enjoy weekend family gatherings at Dave’s family farm. Of course, we get together with our families for holidays and spend about one weekend each month with Dave’s family. Joseph gets together often with his cousins.  Joseph is the only grandchild on Dave’s side of the family and the family is eager for us to welcome another child into our family. Both of our extended families are close knit and a part of our daily lives.

Our Home

Our home on a summer day

Our home is nestled in neighborhood filled with kids and is within walking distance to a local playground. Though it looks small on the outside, is quite spacious inside. We have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen with an eat-in breakfast area, a large dining room and a large living area. Our backyard is huge and has 2 separate patio areas and lots of green space for playing. We live within 1 mile of a lake and a local library, which we go to often.  We are friends with many of our neighbors and enjoy playing games on the front lawn with Joseph and some of our neighbor’s kids. We also have close friends who live around the corner who we take walks with around the neighborhood.
