David’s mother lives about an hour away, with one of his brothers living in the same neighborhood.  He has one other brother, who lives in Lafayette, Louisiana.  So we are very lucky that both our families live close enough to us that we get to see them a lot and they are able to play a major role in our lives and in that of our son.

We moved into a new four bedroom house in a suburban area west of Houston about a year and a half ago.  Our neighborhood is fairly new, very diverse, and full of children.  We’re really close to parks, the library, and shopping.  Our backyard is fully fenced and has a large covered patio where we can relax.   And we have a swing set and plenty of room to play.  As for our house, it’s two-story and we already have a nursery ready.  We also have a large play room for our son (and his future brother or sister) to play in.  Although we’re near the big city, our area has more of a small town feel because we’re close to the “country.”
