A look Into Our Life

Our Extended Families


We are extremely fortunate to have such a loving and supportive family.  Kate’s family includes her parents, one brother (married, with a son), and a large number of cousins scattered throughout Wisconsin.  Doug’s family also includes his parents, one brother (married, no kids).  Both sets of parents and Kate’s brother and family all live in the same town about 3 hours away.  We also live within a block of Doug’s cousin (and wife) and their two sons.  Additionally, in this same city, Doug has an aunt & uncle as well as two other cousins, who have also helped with babysitting and with whom we frequently gather for birthdays and other celebrations.  Family is very important to us, and we spend a lot of time together, especially on holidays.

Our Home

We strive to make our home a reflection of who we are.  We live in a comfortable 3-bedroom ranch.  We are fortunate to live across the street from a large 60-acre nature conservancy where we can hike, ski and just enjoy the scenery. Our home is located in a quiet, family oriented neighborhood near an elementary school.  We often walk over to the school playground in the evenings to play with Elida.  We have a small garden in our backyard, and enough grass for playing games, running through a sprinkler or blowing bubbles.  We are also fortunate to have a large 3-season porch and a family recreation room where Elida can play with her toys.
