A look Into Our Life

Our Extended Families

Ladies[1].JPG

We have extended family and friends in the area who support our decision to adopt.

Our family and friends are aware of how much we have wanted another child and have been very supportive of our decision to adopt.  Our friends know James is adopted and how fortunate he was because his biological parents made that decision.  Erin’s parents live in town, and we see them quite frequently.  Erin’s brother and sister-in-law have a three year old son and only live an hour away, so we get together on a regular basis with them as well.  They are actually Graelen’s godparents.  In addition, our best friends live in town and we consider them part of our family.  Ironically, our childhood best friends married each other.

These are female members of my family—
Sister-in-law Mary, Aunt Susie, Cousin Knodie, Mom Patsy, Graele and I.

When James’ best friend came to visit one weekend, it was love at first sight when he met Erin’s best friend and they were married six months later!  Our daughter thinks of them as another aunt and uncle.  When we go out for a date night, normally Erin’s parents or our friends will baby-sit, so we never worry about the care our daughter receives.

Our Home

Front+Exterior+of+House[1].JPG

We have a daughter who is now three, and so our house has gone through some initial preparatory changes to bring a new child into our lives.  It’s a two-story house with all three bedrooms and music room upstairs.  The downstairs contains the kitchen, living room, and dining room.  Our neighborhood is your typical residential neighborhood that includes a park and small playground a few blocks away from where we live.  We are also located a mile away from a community pool and large playground.  More importantly, we are lucky that our neighborhood has not had any issues of crime, and we picked a house which is not a main thoroughfare through the neighborhood, so the traffic is minimal.
