Hello & Thank You,

My name is Kerstin, and I'm so grateful to you for considering me and my son Malakai as a possible match for you and your child.  A single person might not have been your first thought for your child, but I have just as much support and love to give as a couple would have - or even more! My life is rich with family, friends, and opportunities.  I have a successful career that provides my family with the resources to explore the world and experience new things. I would love the opportunity to share these wonderful experiences with your child.

Malakai (Kai for short) was adopted at birth and is three years old. We have an open relationship with his birth mom and often send her pictures and videos. I am open and committed to whatever type of communication you would like. I want you to know that your child will always know their adoption story and the love you have for them. I am happy to answer any questions you have so that you can make the best decision for you and your baby.

As you'll see in this profile, I have a deep love and appreciation for all different cultures, and I love to learn about people and places all over the world. Travel has been a big part of my life, and I also appreciate and value diversity close to home. We live on a street with families of many different backgrounds, and the schools and businesses in our neighborhood also reflect that diversity.

I love languages and have studied Spanish and Haitian Creole. The public elementary school closest to our home is a dual immersion bilingual school (Spanish and English). I would love for Malakai and any future child I might have to attend this school because I highly value bilingual language skills and the opportunity to build relationships with classmates and teachers of many different backgrounds. I am committed to honoring and valuing your child's cultural background and ensuring that it is an important part of their daily lives.

I pray often for you and your journey. I thank God for you and your decision to consider adoption. I pray for God to give you peace and comfort. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and Malakai and see if we might be a good match for you and your child.

With Love,

Kerstin

Meet Kerstin

I'm so thankful to you for taking the time to get to know me and my son. I am currently a teacher in an urban district with a high population of Spanish speakers, so my language skills come in handy!  I am a passionate reader and learner myself. (I am so happy that Kai loves books too!)  I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in reading education. I was honored to receive a distinguished award for being one of the best teachers in my region. I know that my teaching skills help me to be a great mother too.  I’m also lucky to be able to stay home all summer and enjoy extra time with Malakai and any future child as well.

I am a Christian, and my faith in God is an important part of my life. My life's mission is to help others and treat everyone with respect and love. I am very involved in volunteer work in my city and led the volunteer team at my church for over 10 years, organizing activities to help those in need. I have also traveled to Haiti since 2015 to do mission work. My favorite thing to do there is to teach the kids how to play games.

I consider it a great compliment when my friends and family describe me as a "memory maker." Whether it's a trip to another country or a trip to the local park, I'm always making memories. I take advantage of every opportunity to enjoy new experiences with Kai and our loved ones.

I would be forever grateful to you for the opportunity to give your baby a life full of adventure and a childhood full of wonderful memories.

Kerstin - Getting to Know Us

Meet Malakai

Everyone who meets Kai says he is the happiest child they’ve ever met. He is full of joy, curious, independent, and so sweet. He can’t wait to be a big brother! He talks often about his new baby sibling, rocking his baby doll, pretending to feed her, and singing songs.

We were praying at night before bed, and Malakai said, "Dear God, please, pretty please with sugar on top and a cherry, please bring our new baby to us soon." This is especially meaningful because that is a phrase my grandmother used to say to me when I was little. :)

It’s very important to us that Kai develops a strong self-image. His shelves are filled with books featuring positive cultural role models and toys that look like him. At daycare, he’s surrounded by teachers and kids from many different backgrounds. We talk openly about his adoption, display pictures of his birth mom, and he treasures a photo album with special pictures she sent him.

Malakai embraces every day with excitement. He has lots to say and loves making people laugh. Since I am a teacher, I get summers at home with him. We spend our days swimming, playing in the water, and making memories. This year, he caught his first fish, though he wasn’t interested in touching it!

Malakai is very active and loves T-ball, soccer, and catch. He also enjoys singing, playing the drums, and lots of pretend play—whether he’s a doctor, a coach, or a chef in his toy kitchen.

Our Home

I have owned our beautiful home for 16 years. It's spacious and located in such a nice neighborhood. The best part is our huge fenced-in backyard, and we love spending time there. I love the hammock, and Kai loves his swing. He calls it his "dizzy" swing, and he laughs so loud every time he uses it.  Kai also likes our two slides, our water table, and all of our cars and balls. In addition, we spend lots of time at the parks and pools near our home.

Kai started walking at a very young age, and he's been on the go ever since. He loves climbing, swimming, and going on my parents' pontoon boat. We take swimming lessons every week so he can learn important water safety skills since we love to go to the pool and the lake.  In the summer, we often have friends over for bonfires and water games. We sometimes set up tents in my yard or even in my living room if it's raining!  No matter the weather, we always try to make every day an adventure.

Our Community

Our Community

Our community is a perfect mix of big-city opportunities with a small-town feel. It is consistently rated one of the best cities to live in for its amazing quality of life. We have a children's museum, a zoo and adventure park, an amusement park, and several super fun water parks that we often visit. Kai and I both love to swim, and we would love to teach your child to love the water too.

Our area gets a lot of snow in the winter, so we have a lot of fun outdoor activities, including the biggest and best sledding hill in the state and a beautiful outdoor ice skating rink. The city has many exciting opportunities but is also surrounded by beautiful and relaxing nature that we often enjoy with our friends and family!

Kerstin - Extended Family

Our Family

Our Family

Our immediate family includes my parents, my sisters Ketti and Kallie, my brother-in-law Dave, and my beloved 11-year-old niece Josie and 9-year-old nephew Tommy. Everyone loves Kai so much, and they can't wait to help with his new brother or sister!

Our family has an extremely close bond. They live a short drive away in the beautiful town where I grew up. We FaceTime often throughout the week and spend holidays and birthdays together. We also spend a lot of time with them in the summer at our family's lakefront property. Our time together is full of laughter and fun. They are overjoyed at the thought of welcoming a new baby into our family.

My Squad & the Squadlets

I have a group of very close friends, and we call ourselves the "squad." The squad moms have a total of 17 kids among us. We call the kids the "squadlets," and they all call me Auntie. I am Godmother to two of the squadlets, and one of the squadlets is named after me, which is a great honor! We spend a lot of time together, and I always plan fun activities and games for all of the kids. I especially love messy projects like making slime and helping the kids tie-dye matching shirts.

Every one of the squadlets absolutely adores Kai. They love to push him on the swings, take him in our kayak, and play sports with him in our backyard. They are constantly holding his hand and caring for him like a little brother. They are all so excited to have a new baby join the crew too! We are so blessed to have an abundance of love and support in our lives. Your child will have a wonderful network of family and friends who will love and support him or her.

Kerstin - A Look Into Our Life

Making Birthdays Special

I want Malakai to always know how much he is loved.  He is surrounded by a loving family and a "framily" (that's friends who are family) that care so much about him.  One way I want to celebrate his life is by surrounding him with love at his birthday.  Malakai's first birthday party was a fishing theme because he loves the water.  Every single one of the squadlets was there to celebrate with us!  When he turned two, we had another big birthday party with a wild animal theme.  He loved playing with the giant alligator, zebra, lion, and giraffe balloons.  He even tried to ride the zebra!  Since his second birthday party, he has been walking around the house singing "Happy Birthday" to himself and pretending to blow out candles.  I think he loved his celebration!

I like to celebrate each of the special kids in my life as individuals, so each year for their birthdays, I also take each squadlet on their own birthday adventure with Auntie. Each child chooses an activity that matches their interests. Some of our recent adventures have included painting lessons, a pottery studio, a ropes course with a zip line, professional football games, the amusement park, a submarine tour, and a Disney Dance Party! I can't wait to celebrate your child and encourage his or her individual interests too!

Lake Life

The lake is an important part of our lives. My parents have a lakefront property in Upper Michigan where we love to spend our summers camping, swimming, and floating around on their pontoon boat. I love teaching Malakai, my niece, my nephew, and the squadlets how to fish, tube, kayak, canoe, and paddleboard. Kai loves to "drive" the pontoon with Grandpa, and he went on the kayak for the first time this year. I'd love to share our love of the outdoors with your child too.

The highlight of our summer is always the annual squad camping trip!  Each year, we make matching numbered shirts with all the kids in age order.  Malakai's shirt is number 17 since he is currently the youngest.  His new brother or sister will be number 18 of the squadlets!  We are so excited for the new baby that this year we also made a matching onesie for him or her.  Your baby will be surrounded by so much love and laughter!

Traveling the World

Just after college, I went to Guatemala for a Spanish immersion experience, and I fell in love with travel! I love to practice my language skills and learn about new places and people. I have visited 10 countries, and I would love the opportunity to show your child all that they can learn from experiencing different parts of the world. The first thing my mom said when I told her I was hoping to adopt was, "just think of all of the adventures you will have together!" It will be a dream come true to travel the world with Kai and to give that dream to your child, too.

Family Traditions

We have lots of family traditions that I hope to share with your child.  One of my favorite traditions is playing cards. My grandparents taught us to play so many games at a young age, and I love to teach all my special kids how to play, too.  My sisters and I also have homemade Christmas stockings that we've had since we were kids. When we started adding to our family, I learned how to sew just so I could surprise my brother-in-law, niece, and nephew with homemade stockings that matched ours. I sewed one for Malakai when he was a baby, and I saved the supplies so I can make one for your baby too!

Our family can't wait to celebrate life with your special child every day.

Hello & Thank You , First, we want to thank you for taking a look into our lives and reviewing our book. We can’t even begin to understand what you are going through, but we pray that God continues to give you strength and courage through all the emotions you are feeling. We know that you are a selfless woman just by knowing that you are choosing to create an adoption plan for your child. Our names are Jose and Daniella. We met each other in 2014, and we got married in 2016. A year later, we began trying to have a child of our own. After three years of seeing a fertility doctor and seven years of trying different treatments, we were unsuccessful. Jose and I want to expand our family, and we know adoption is the answer to our prayers. We both have siblings we grew up with, and we hope that we are able to add another sibling to expand our love and family in the near future. We want you to know that your child is already loved by so many, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many more family members. We promise to raise your child with unconditional love, provide many life skills, compassion, respect, morals, and provide any education your child dreams of. We also believe in God and would love to raise your child knowing who God is. If you choose us to be part of your adoption plan, we can assure you that we will share your child’s adoption story with them from the very beginning. We will celebrate the love you have for them and honor the decision you made. Thank you once again for this opportunity to get to know us. This process has been one we prayed and cried about, as having a family of our own has been a difficult journey for us both. As you glance through our book, we pray that you see the love we share with each other, our families, our faith, and the joy we have for the future journey we have prayed about. Whichever decision you make, we want you to know that you will forever be in our prayers. Sincerely, Jose & Daniella

Hello & Thank You , We are Chelsea and Nick, and we are truly honored and grateful that you are considering us as potential adoptive parents for your child. We want to acknowledge the immense courage and strength it takes to choose adoption, and we deeply appreciate the thought and care you are giving to this decision. Our journey to adoption has been deeply personal. While we have faced struggles with infertility, our desire to adopt began long before we were married. Growing up, Chelsea was surrounded by adoption. Two of her siblings, her aunt, and her uncle were all adopted, so building a family this way has always felt natural to her. Our faith in God plays a central role in our lives, guiding us to love, serve, and trust His plan. Adoption reflects the love and grace we believe He has shown us, and it is a path we hold very dear. After facing challenges and experiencing a loss, we were so blessed to welcome our daughter, Sofia, into our lives through adoption. She is everything to us, our little miracle and a daily reminder that love and hope can turn any hardship into something beautiful. For us, adoption represents not only the joy and love of expanding our family but also the incredible strength and love of parents like you who make this choice. We are surrounded by family and friends who have embraced our journey and who share in our joy and commitment to providing a nurturing and supportive home. As parents, we hope to offer a child a home where they will feel cherished and encouraged to grow, celebrate their uniqueness, and pursue their dreams in every way possible. Should we be chosen, we want your child to always know how special, wanted, and deeply loved they are—not only by our family and us but also by you. We want you to know that you will always hold a meaningful and cherished place in their life and in our family. Please know that your decision, whatever it may be, is honored and supported. Thank you for considering us as potential adoptive parents and for the hope you bring to families like ours. Please know that you are in our prayers. With heartfelt appreciation, Nick & Chelsea

Hello & Thank You , We are Dani, Joe, Emerson, and Benjamin. Nice to meet you! We are so grateful to you for taking the time to get to know us a little better. We realize you may be feeling many different emotions at this time, and we want you to know that we will be supportive of you and your child. We will care about you, too. Our hope in creating this book is that you'll feel the love, laughter, and joy in our daily lives and our adventures, and be able to imagine what a life with us could be like for your child. We have two children, Benjamin and Emerson. After complications from Dani's pregnancy with Emerson that led to a hysterectomy, Dani is no longer able to carry a child. In 2023, we adopted our son, Benjamin, and have an open relationship with his birth family. We are so grateful to his birth family for choosing us and trusting us to raise their child. We are excited to grow our family once again through adoption and are thankful to you for taking the time to get to know us. If you choose us, your child will grow up alongside two sweet and playful big brothers who are curious, energetic, and full of love. They will also have a gentle golden retriever nearby for snuggles and games of fetch. Our home is filled with laughter and connection, and we are intentional about creating a space where our children feel secure, encouraged, and deeply loved. We acknowledge that you have a very important role in your child’s life, and we would like to have an open adoption so that your child will know their story. It is important to us that we honor your wishes regarding the level of openness you would like in your child’s life. We will keep the promises we make together and always put your child’s needs at the center of our decisions. We both value kindness, curiosity, humor, and a love of learning, and we strive to model those values every day. We want our children to grow up feeling unconditionally loved, seen, heard, and supported. Even when life feels challenging, we face it together and always put our kids first. We are so excited to grow our family through adoption and would be honored to give your child that same love and support. Thank you for taking the time to read our story. We would truly love to get to know you. With Love, Joe & Dani

Hello & Thank You , Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about us and consider us as you explore your options. We know this isn't an easy decision. While we cannot know what you are experiencing, we truly respect the care and thought that goes into creating an adoption plan. We are Douglas and Pamela. We’ve been together for thirteen years and married for nine. Throughout our relationship, we’ve talked about building our family through adoption, and Pamela has known since she was a teen that adoption would likely be the safest way to start a family. While we did spend time hoping to conceive, we later learned that pregnancy would come with significant medical risks, including a very high chance of miscarriage and complications that could affect both her and the baby. After many visits with doctors and thoughtful conversations with each other, we chose adoption as the right path for us. We’re excited to open our hearts, our home, and share everyday moments together as a family! If chosen, your child will be raised in a loving, stable environment where they are deeply cared for and supported. They will grow up knowing their story began with love and care. We will always speak of you with respect and gratitude. Thank you again for considering us as adoptive parents for your child. Whatever you decide, we wish you peace, support, and kindness as you move forward. Sincerely, Douglas & Pamela

Hello & Thank You , From the very beginning, we want you to know you are seen and valued. We can’t imagine the strength it takes to walk this journey, and we truly admire your courage. As it says in Isaiah 41:10, “Do not fear for I am with you. I will strengthen you and help you.” We pray you feel that promise wrapped around you. That you are not alone, that you are supported and that God’s strength is carrying you through each step. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. It feels hard to put into words how much love and gratitude we already feel as we write this. Our names are Abbey and Jesus, and we live in Texas with our two dogs, Drax and Willow. Little did we know that a simple haircut would be the start of our lifelong adventure together. We have been together for eight years and married for almost 5 years. From that day forward, we built a life full of love, laughter, and faith. Every step has brought us closer, and now our hearts are ready to welcome a child with the same care and devotion we’ve poured into each other. We later found out that we could not have biological children due to infertility issues. While that news was difficult, it only strengthens what we already knew in our hearts that we wanted to be parents and share all the love we have to give. Adoption felt like the path God was leading us toward, and it has been calling to us ever since. We are so excited to open our hearts and home to your child. We promise they will always feel safe, loved, cared for, and supported. We believe it is important for your child to understand their adoption story and to grow up knowing how deeply loved by everyone involved. The relationship between a child and their birth family is significant, and we strongly support an open adoption. However comfortable you are, we would truly welcome you to be a part of their life. Thank you for opening your heart to read our story. No matter what you decide, we wish you peace, comfort, and endless love for you and your child. With love and gratitude, Jesus & Abbey

Hello & Thank You , We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to learn about who we are, and we are honored and humbled that you would consider us to adopt your child. While we can never fully understand how difficult this decision is or what you are going through, we want you to know that we see your strength, bravery, and selflessness. We will make sure your child grows up knowing that, and feeling proud of their story and where they come from. We are committed to being open and honest every step of the way. We are Andy and Katie. We have been married for 10 years and have known each other for 14. From the very beginning of our relationship, we knew we wanted to build a family together. About a year into our marriage, we began trying, but faced many challenges and soon started infertility treatments. After many years, tests, and procedures without success, we felt called to pursue adoption, not realizing our greatest gift was yet to come. We met our son, Jude, in March of 2024, and our lives changed in the best possible way. He is the love of our lives and has been surrounded by the love and support of our family, friends, and community from the very beginning. The additional love of the family we gained through his birth parents and birth grandmother has been immeasurable, and we truly feel that it was meant to be. Jude is so ready to be a big brother, and we are thrilled to grow our family through adoption again. When it comes to raising your child, we promise to surround them with love, from us and from the many people who support us. We will teach them to lead with empathy, kindness, and respect for others. We promise a life filled with joy, laughter, cuddles, storytimes, music, and adventure. We will be their biggest advocate. Most of all, we promise to always be open and honest, sharing their story with them and helping them feel proud of who they are. We are so grateful for you and hope our profile gives you a glimpse into our lives and helps you feel a sense of comfort in what lies ahead. We would be honored to learn more about you and walk this journey alongside you, whenever and if you feel ready. With gratitude and love, Andy & Katie

Hello & Thank You , We are Phill and Shayle, and we feel truly honored that you have taken the time to look at our profile and consider us as potential adoptive parents for your child. We can only begin to imagine how difficult this decision may be for you. What we do know is that it comes from a place of deep love. It takes an incredibly strong person to made a choice like this, one rooted in hope and care for your child. We want you to know how much we respect you and the journey you are on. Even though we haven’t met, please know that you have been in our hearts and prayers. Our daughter, Letti, is from Phill’s first marriage. She has always dreamed of becoming a big sister, and we know she will be a wonderful one. Even before we were married, we talked about adoption and knew it was part of the life we wanted to build together. To us, family is not defined only by biology. It is also built on love, connection, and commitment, and our hearts have always been open to growing our family through adoption. We want you to know that your child’s story matters deeply to us. We believe that being adopted is an important and meaningful part of who they are, just like their cultural and ethnic background. We are committed to being open and honest from the very beginning. We would love the opportunity to get to know you, your hopes, your dreams, and what you envision for your child’s future. And if you wish, you will always be a meaningful part of that extended circle of love. With love and gratitude, Phill & Shayle

Hello & Thank You , We know your mind is probably running a million miles a minute right now, so we're grateful you're taking a moment to read this. Before we say anything else, thank you. Not for any decision you have or haven't made, but simply for the love that's clearly driving every step you're taking. The love it takes to be in this moment... to put your child's future above everything else... is something we deeply admire. Now, the introductions. We're Josh and Iffy, married for 6 years and residing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with our little household zoo (three cats and one very outnumbered dog). We are, at our core, a team, and becoming parents together has been our dream. Our road here hasn't been without heartbreak. We've faced years of infertility and the grief of multiple miscarriages. Those losses changed us, and in some ways they led us here to you, to this child, to this path. We don't see adoption as a last resort. We see it as exactly where we were always meant to end up. If you choose us, we promise that your child will always know their story. Where they came from, and the extraordinary love that surrounded them from the very beginning... including yours. Your baby would be coming home to a place full of warmth, curiosity, laughter, and love. They would grow up knowing they were chosen, not because they had to be, but because we wanted them more than we can say. Thank you for considering us. Thank you for your courage, your love, and for reading these words. We are rooting for you, and we are so hopeful for what the future holds for all of us. With so much love, Josh & Iffy

Hello & Thank You , Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us and for considering us as a family to raise your child. Your love for your child is already evident, and we honor the strength it takes to make decisions rooted in that love. We can only imagine how overwhelming this process may feel, and we deeply respect the courage, love, and care you are showing. Please know we are thinking of you and praying for you as you navigate this journey, no matter what you decide. We are incredibly grateful and excited to be growing our family through adoption after a long journey with infertility and loss. For three years, we pursued fertility treatments and experienced seven early miscarriages. During that time, God began to give us a clear vision for how we would build our family. While our season of infertility was painful, it also strengthened our marriage, deepened our communication, and helped us grow in patience, faith, and trust in God’s timing. It prepared us spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially for adoption. In March of 2024, we adopted our son, Dawson, from birth and were blessed to be by his birth mother’s side when he was born. We continue to share updates and photos with her today. We want you to know your child will be raised in a home filled with love, honesty, warmth, and support. We believe in teaching values such as respect, integrity, faith, and compassion, and we strive to make everyday moments meaningful as a family. Our home is a place where people feel welcomed, safe, and deeply cared for. We will always honor the level of openness you choose and deeply respect the trust and sacrifice involved in this decision. Our hope is that, through this book, you can see the love we have for each other, our son, our families, our friends, our pets, and the child we hope to welcome. We are truly grateful for your consideration of us as adoptive parents. We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers, no matter what path you choose. With love, David & Lindsey
