My name is Kerstin, and I'm so grateful to you for considering me and my son Malakai as a possible match for you and your child.  A single person might not have been your first thought for your child, but I have just as much support and love to give as a couple would have - or even more! My life is rich with family, friends, and opportunities.  I have a successful career that provides my family with the resources to explore the world and experience new things. I would love the opportunity to share these wonderful experiences with your child.


Malakai (Kai for short) was adopted at birth and is two years old. We have an open relationship with his birth mom and often send her pictures and videos. I am open and committed to whatever type of communication you would like. I want you to know that your child will always know their adoption story and the love you have for them. I am happy to answer any questions you have so that you can make the best decision for you and your baby.


As you'll see in this profile, I have a deep love and appreciation for all different cultures, and I love to learn about people and places all over the world. Travel has been a big part of my life, and I also appreciate and value diversity close to home. We live on a street with families of many different backgrounds, and the schools and businesses in our neighborhood also reflect that diversity.  


I love languages and have studied Spanish and Haitian Creole. The public elementary school closest to our home is a dual immersion bilingual school (Spanish and English). I would love for Malakai and any future child I might have to attend this school because I highly value bilingual language skills and the opportunity to build relationships with classmates and teachers of many different backgrounds. I am committed to honoring and valuing your child's cultural background and ensuring that it is an important part of their daily lives.

Meet Kerstin

I am a Christian, and my faith in God is an important part of my life. My life's mission is to help others and treat everyone with respect and love. I am very involved in volunteer work in my city and led the volunteer team at my church for over 10 years, organizing activities to help those in need. I have also traveled to Haiti since 2015 to do mission work. My favorite thing to do there is to teach the kids how to play games.


I consider it a great compliment when my friends and family describe me as a "memory maker." Whether it's a trip to another country or a trip to the local park, I'm always making memories. I take advantage of every opportunity to enjoy new experiences with Kai and our loved ones.

Kerstin - Getting to Know Us

Meet Malakai

Everyone who meets Kai says he is the happiest child they've ever met. He is full of joy, curious, independent, and so sweet. He is going to be an amazing big brother!  He has started talking all the time about his new baby brother or sister.  He rocks his baby dolls and pretends to feed them and even sings songs to them. 


Malakai embraces every day with excitement.  He loves to read books, play with Grandpa's basketball, drive cars and trucks, and build with blocks.  He also likes to help me and Grandma in the kitchen.  He is hilarious and starting to do silly things to make us laugh.  Kai is also incredibly smart.  Even though he just turned two, He already knows all his colors and is counting and identifying letters.  Since I am a teacher, I get to spend all summer at home with him.  I will treasure having that special time with the new baby too.   


It's very important that Kai develops a great self-image, so he has tons of books that reflect positive cultural role models and lots of toys that look like him. He attends a daycare with teachers and kids of all different backgrounds. We talk openly about his adoption and display pictures of his birth mom.  He also has a photo album with special pictures that she sent for him.

    • Our Home

    I have owned our beautiful home for 14 years. It's spacious and located in such a nice neighborhood. The best part is our huge fenced-in backyard, and we love spending time there. I love the hammock, and Kai loves his swing. He calls it his "dizzy" swing, and he laughs so loud every time he uses it.  Kai also likes our two slides, our water table, and all of our cars and balls. In addition, we spend lots of time at the parks and pools near our home. 


    Kai started walking at a very young age, and he's been on the go ever since. He loves climbing, swimming, and going on my parents' pontoon boat. We take swimming lessons every week so he can learn important water safety skills since we love to go to the pool and the lake.  In the summer, we often have friends over for bonfires and water games. We sometimes set up tents in my yard or even in my living room if it's raining!  No matter the weather, we always try to make every day an adventure.

    • Our Community

    Our community is a perfect mix of big-city opportunities with a small-town feel. It is consistently rated one of the best cities to live in for its amazing quality of life. We have a children's museum, a zoo and adventure park, an amusement park, and several super fun water parks that we often visit. Kai and I both love to swim, and we would love to teach your child to love the water too. 


    Our area gets a lot of snow in the winter, so we have a lot of fun outdoor activities, including the biggest and best sledding hill in the state and a beautiful outdoor ice skating rink. The city has many exciting opportunities but is also surrounded by beautiful and relaxing nature that we often enjoy with our friends and family!

    • Our Family

    Our Family

    Our immediate family includes my parents, my sisters Ketti and Kallie, my brother-in-law Dave, and my beloved 11-year-old niece Josie and 9-year-old nephew Tommy. Everyone loves Kai so much, and they can't wait to help with his new brother or sister!


    Our family has an extremely close bond. They live a short drive away in the beautiful town where I grew up. We FaceTime often throughout the week and spend holidays and birthdays together. We also spend a lot of time with them in the summer at our family's lakefront property. Our time together is full of laughter and fun. They are overjoyed at the thought of welcoming a new baby into our family.

    • I have a group of very close friends, and we call ourselves the "squad." The squad moms have a total of 17 kids among us. We call the kids the "squadlets," and they all call me Auntie. I am Godmother to two of the squadlets, and one of the squadlets is named after me, which is a great honor! We spend a lot of time together, and I always plan fun activities and games for all of the kids. I especially love messy projects like making slime and helping the kids tie-dye matching shirts.


    Every one of the squadlets absolutely adores Kai. They love to push him on the swings, take him in our kayak, and play sports with him in our backyard. They are constantly holding his hand and caring for him like a little brother. They are all so excited to have a new baby join the crew too! We are so blessed to have an abundance of love and support in our lives. Your child will have a wonderful network of family and friends who will love and support him or her.

    • Making Birthdays Special

    I want Malakai to always know how much he is loved.  He is surrounded by a loving family and a "framily" (that's friends who are family) that care so much about him.  One way I want to celebrate his life is by surrounding him with love at his birthday.  Malakai's first birthday party was a fishing theme because he loves the water.  Every single one of the squadlets was there to celebrate with us!  When he turned two, we had another big birthday party with a wild animal theme.  He loved playing with the giant alligator, zebra, lion, and giraffe balloons.  He even tried to ride the zebra!  Since his second birthday party, he has been walking around the house singing "Happy Birthday" to himself and pretending to blow out candles.  I think he loved his celebration!


    I like to celebrate each of the special kids in my life as individuals, so each year for their birthdays, I also take each squadlet on their own birthday adventure with Auntie. Each child chooses an activity that matches their interests. Some of our recent adventures have included painting lessons, a pottery studio, a ropes course with a zip line, professional football games, the amusement park, a submarine tour, and a Disney Dance Party! I can't wait to celebrate your child and encourage his or her individual interests too!

    • The lake is an important part of our lives. My parents have a lakefront property in Upper Michigan where we love to spend our summers camping, swimming, and floating around on their pontoon boat. I love teaching Malakai, my niece, my nephew, and the squadlets how to fish, tube, kayak, canoe, and paddleboard. Kai loves to "drive" the pontoon with Grandpa, and he went on the kayak for the first time this year. I'd love to share our love of the outdoors with your child too.


    The highlight of our summer is always the annual squad camping trip!  Each year, we make matching numbered shirts with all the kids in age order.  Malakai's shirt is number 17 since he is currently the youngest.  His new brother or sister will be number 18 of the squadlets!  We are so excited for the new baby that this year we also made a matching onesie for him or her.  Your baby will be surrounded by so much love and laughter!

    • Traveling the World

    Just after college, I went to Guatemala for a Spanish immersion experience, and I fell in love with travel! I love to practice my language skills and learn about new places and people. I have visited 10 countries, and I would love the opportunity to show your child all that they can learn from experiencing different parts of the world. The first thing my mom said when I told her I was hoping to adopt was, "just think of all of the adventures you will have together!" It will be a dream come true to travel the world with Kai and to give that dream to your child, too.

    • We have lots of family traditions that I hope to share with your child.  One of my favorite traditions is playing cards. My grandparents taught us to play so many games at a young age, and I love to teach all my special kids how to play, too.  My sisters and I also have homemade Christmas stockings that we've had since we were kids. When we started adding to our family, I learned how to sew just so I could surprise my brother-in-law, niece, and nephew with homemade stockings that matched ours. I sewed one for Malakai last year, and I saved the supplies so I can make one for your baby, too! 


    Our family can't wait to celebrate life with your special child every day.

    Hello & Thank You , We admire your courage in making an adoption plan. We have been praying for you and your child, for a healthy pregnancy, and for your wisdom and strength as you choose prospective parents to walk beside you during this adoption journey. We want to thank you for taking the time to look over our photo book.  We are Mark and Julie. We have been together for over 14 years and have always wanted to grow our family. After four long years of infertility struggles, we decided adoption was the way we were going to create our happy family. Our son Gideon joined our family through adoption in 2021, and we hope he will soon have a sibling to play with. We both have siblings and know the wonderful bond that can grow, especially when they are close in age. We are fortunate that Julie can be a stay-at-home mom. She has a wealth of life lessons to pass along to our children, and she incorporates problem-solving into our daily lives. Let us begin by introducing ourselves; we are Jamey and Amanda. We live in a rural town in Wisconsin. Jamey and I have been married for 12 years and together for 16 years. From the beginning, starting a family and having children was always in the plans; however, it seemed God's plan for growing our family differed from what we initially thought. We had two miscarriages, and after several years of undiagnosed infertility issues, we chose to grow our family through adoption. In 2018, our family grew through adoption with the birth of our son, Jameson. Then, in 2020, our family grew once more with the birth of our daughter, Poppy. They have both brought so much joy and laughter to our lives. They are close in age and have a great connection and bond. Jameson is an amazing big brother who looks forward to having another younger sibling. While Poppy is young, she will make a great big sister. We both have siblings we are close to and are excited to see the close bond that will develop between the three of them. We are fortunate to have such a supportive family who has been there every step of the way. They have so much love for our children, and they are excited to watch our family grow.     Hello & Thank You , Our names are Jessica and Bryan and we are so grateful for you taking the time to consider us as you make plans for your child and evaluate your options. We pray that you are getting all of the support you need during what we imagine is a very uncertain and difficult time in your life. We may never know what you are experiencing, and we thank you for doing everything you can to think, dream and hope for this baby and their future. We trust that what you decide is right. We have been together for almost 16 years and married for close to 14. As we entered our 10th year together, we started to think seriously about starting a family. After many months of trying, we decided we might need help. In 2019, after more than a year of testing, and waiting, we became pregnant just two weeks before undergoing IUI treatment. Sadly, the pregnancy was not viable, and we lost our angel baby. We prayerfully considered whether it was time to fulfill our dream of adoption, which had always been something we’d wanted in our life even if we were blessed with a biological child. We feel very ready to become parents to a precious child and can’t wait to share our love of family with them. We are Benny and Vanessa, a loving couple from Texas who have long dreamed of becoming parents. We have been married for 18 years, and we are more in love than ever. The journey to parenthood has not been without its challenges for us. After trying for several years, we discovered we would likely not be able to have kids of our own. We tried everything – including three IVF treatments that were not successful. We were devastated but knew that God had a plan for our family. Our adoption journey has given us new hope and light in our lives. We love children and cannot imagine going through life without a family. We genuinely believe that adoption is a beautiful way to create a family, and we would be honored if you chose us to be the adoptive parents for your child.     Hello & Thank You , We cannot begin to understand what you are going through, but we admire the strength and love it takes to make this difficult decision for your baby and yourself. The gift you bless a couple with will be cherished and never forgotten. Our names are Joseph and Brandi. Our journey to becoming a family has been a long one. Very early in our relationship, we knew we wanted a family one day, and we had always envisioned ourselves as parents. We began trying to start our family right after we got married, but infertility issues have prevented us from growing our family. Having been through multiple rounds of fertility treatments with no luck, we decided that the time, money, and emotions we were dedicating to this process could be better spent on another avenue to parenthood: adoption. Adoption is an option that I, Brandi, am familiar with. When I was 10 years old, I found out my mom placed my sister for adoption. Many adoptions were closed back then, so, unfortunately, we know nothing about her. While this has been painful for my family, my mother knew she did what was best for her as she was very young and unable to give her the life she felt she deserved. From my experience with adoption and knowing that it’s how we will be growing our family, I can promise that your child will know their adoption story from the beginning. They will know of you, your courage, strength, and the love you have for them. You will never feel the pain of not knowing them or of them not knowing you. We promise to provide your child with a loving and nurturing home. We will raise them with the values and morals of putting family first, recognizing and embracing our differences, celebrating our unique journey to becoming a family and celebrating the little things that make us who we are. We have so many loving friends and family members that are supportive and excited to welcome your child into their hearts, and we plan to lean on them for support and guidance along the way.     Hello & Thank You , First, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us as adoptive parents to your child. We are truly grateful and admire your heart in this difficult decision. We are praying for you and your child. We want you to know that we honor your love and value your thoughts and concerns for your child’s future. Our names are Eugenio (E.R.) and Roseanne. We have been together for 17 years and married for 11 years. Our plans to have children were from the beginning of our relationship. Like the scripture says in Isaiah 55:8-10, God’s plans are not our plans. We were told we could not have children without treatments, so we did IVF. We did 3 rounds of IVF and were excited to get positive results. We lived in joy for a short moment until we suffered a miscarriage. Since that time went back 8 more times to do IVF with our last attempt in 2020, with no positive results. Our hopes and prayers kept us going, and we know that no matter what, we are still seeking and asking through prayers for our family to grow. We have a deep-rooted desire in our hearts to have children, and becoming parents is our dream come true. We are so ready to love a child unconditionally and to know and experience the joy of becoming parents. We both have loving families, friends, and church families who are just as excited as we are to pour love onto a child. They support us in our walk of faith and this journey to extend our family. For us, raising a child will mean showing them we love them daily. Supporting them in every way we can with their hobbies and activities, and most of all, showing them how valuable they are. We plan to always have lots of fun adventures, walking next to them in every moment of their lives. If you choose us to be part of your adoption plan, it's important for you to know that your child will be loved and protected by us.     Hello & Thank You , We want to thank you for taking the time to get to know us. While we cannot imagine the feelings you have or will experience in your decision to create an adoption plan for your child, we hope you feel loved and supported, and we personally want you to know how brave and selfless we think you are. We are Andy and Mandy, and we currently share our home and lives with 2 very different yet equally fun and snuggly doggos, Sophie and Maxx. Andy and I have been married for 8 years and together for just over 20 years. Our early years in our relationship were spent having fun, growing as individuals and as a couple, and then establishing our careers. We knew early into our marriage we wanted a family. We tried for years to grow our family on our own, but through many different tests and treatments, we realized that may not be something we are able to do. Throughout our relationship, we had always been open to adoption; many friends and family have shared their journey with adoption and fostering, so our hearts were always open to this, and we have seen that biology doesn’t define the love and care provided to a child. Because of our family's experience in adoption and fostering, we know the importance of your child understanding their birth story, where they came from, and how truly special they and their birth family are to us. If you decide to make an adoption plan with us, we want you to know how loved not only your child will be, but also how cared for and supported you will be.     Hello & Thank You , We would like to personally thank you for taking the time to look at our profile and get to know us. We are excited and humbled to show you our family. We can't truly understand the feelings you are experiencing, but we will try our best to be there for you and bring comfort to you in any way possible with God's help. We wear our hearts on our sleeves and hope to show you that through these pages with us, you can find peace knowing your child will have a loving and nurturing home. We are Patrick and Holly, and we have been married for 14 years. After trying to start a family, we quickly discovered that it would be very difficult for us to conceive naturally. After struggling for six years with infertility, we decided that adoption was the next step of our journey in creating a family. We believe all along that God was calling us to adoption. We adopted our son Caleb 2 years ago and are excited to expand our family again. He is truly our rainbow after the storm. People would describe us as genuine, fun, loving, and family-oriented. We will raise your child with Christian beliefs and help them become the person they were made to be by supporting them and helping them find their gifts and talents. We have amazing friends and family who cannot wait to welcome in and love your child unconditionally. We believe it's important to discuss adoption from an early age, and we are comfortable with whatever level of openness you would like to have, whether it is private or open, through exchanging photos, phone calls, emails, or visits.
