Our Story

Our paths had crossed many times over the years since we both grew up in a small town, but the timing never seemed quite right. Then one weekend, I spotted Lucas at a local dance hall and ran into him again at the grocery store the very next day. After not seeing or hearing from him for nearly two years, it felt like more than a coincidence.

From the beginning, we shared so much laughter and joy. I introduced Lucas to my love of travel and adventure, and together we explored new places, including Monterey, California, Scotland, and Ireland. We also discovered a shared love of vintage shopping and repurposing.

In January 2019, during a trip to Scotland, Lucas surprised me with the perfect proposal. Surrounded by Highland cows—my favorite animal, affectionately known as “curly cows”—he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes!

Our Scottish-inspired wedding, complete with kilts, was everything we had dreamed of. Surrounded by family and friends, our day was filled with laughter, happy tears, and so much love. It remains one of our favorite memories and the perfect beginning to our life together.

Kynzlee is kind, sweet, and passionate. She embraces life with so much enthusiasm, taking on each day with excitement and finding joy in the little moments. She is a natural leader with a nurturing heart and loves caring for others.

Her imagination is always at work, whether she is playing make-believe, caring for her baby dolls, or creating stories with her Barbies. Right now, Kynzlee wants to be a doctor just like her aunt, and we love encouraging her big dreams and endless imagination.

Kynzlee loves being active and can often be found outdoors enjoying parks, splash pads, swinging, running, or even doing what she proudly calls her “workouts.” She also has a creative side and enjoys reading books, crafting, singing, and dancing. One of her greatest passions is animals, especially horses. She takes horseback riding lessons and loves every opportunity to be around horses and other animals.



Kynzlee is truly the light of our lives and brings so much happiness to our family. She loves deeply, cares wholeheartedly, and has a special way of making everyone she meets feel important. Her kind spirit, compassionate nature, and joyful personality make her a blessing to all who know her.

Our Home

Lucas and I moved into our beautiful open-concept, three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom home in September 2025, and we instantly fell in love with it. One of our favorite features is the large backyard, which gives us plenty of space for family fun, including a trampoline, swing set, and even a home office for me.



One of the greatest blessings of our home is the wonderful neighborhood and community we have found here. We are surrounded by many young families with children of all ages, including several little girls who are the same age as Kynzlee. It has been so special watching her build friendships and grow up alongside them.

On any given day, you can find neighborhood kids riding bikes and scooters, playing together in front yards, and enjoying the outdoors while parents gather nearby to visit. There is a true sense of community here, and we feel incredibly grateful to be raising our family in a place filled with friendship, laughter, and support. Our home is filled with love, warmth, and joy, and we look forward to creating many more memories here as our family grows.

We live in a wonderful community that offers so many opportunities for families to learn, explore, and have fun together.

Since we are relatively new to the area, one of our favorite things to do as a family is explore everything our community has to offer. We enjoy discovering new parks, attending local events, trying new activities, and finding new places to make memories together. Whether we are spending a day at the zoo, picking out books at the library, going to the children’s museum, cooling off at a splash pad, or simply enjoying time outdoors, we love the opportunities these experiences give us to connect as a family.

We look forward to sharing these adventures with a future child and helping them discover their own interests, passions, and favorite places as they grow.

Lucas' Family

I come from a family full of boys and am the oldest of three brothers. My younger brothers, Josh and Eli, have always been some of my closest friends. Growing up, I was surrounded by cousins, and one of my very best friends is still my cousin, Gregory. Together, we spent countless hours building forts, digging trenches, and creating imaginary adventures that gave us memories we still laugh about today.

I have always looked up to my dad, Jeff (“Papa”), who served as a Marine Reservist. His strength, integrity, and dedication to our family continue to shape the husband and father I strive to be.

In April 2026, our family experienced the heartbreaking loss of my mom. She could light up any room with her warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit. She loved deeply, made everyone feel welcome, and was an incredible mother and grandmother. She is missed every day, and I honor her by carrying forward the love and generosity she shared with others.



Both of my brothers are married and have two children. They, along with my dad, live together on a beautiful five-acre property in California. We visit several times each year, filling our trips with laughter, family traditions, and plenty of cousin adventures. Watching the children grow up together and create memories of their own is something I truly treasure.

I come from a very close-knit family that has always been one of the greatest blessings in my life. My parents, Bruce (“Grampy”) and Cyndee (“Gigi”), have been happily married for 36 years. I also have a younger sister, Delanee (“Lala”), and a younger brother, Sawyer (“Uncle Soy”). Because we are close in age, we have shared countless memories growing up and have remained incredibly close as adults.

My sister lives in Tennessee with her husband and my amazing niece, Jaycee Raye. My brother is married, and they live in Massachusetts. Although we currently live in different states, distance has never weakened our bond. We make time to visit whenever possible, and FaceTime calls with Gigi and Grampy are a regular part of our lives.



Here in Texas, we are also blessed to have extended family nearby, including my Aunt Julie, Grandma Mimi, cousins, and their children. Whether it is holidays, birthdays, or everyday moments together, family continues to be a very important part of our lives.

Our Furry Friends 

Our pets are an important part of our family and bring so much love, laughter, and joy into our home.

Remee, our blue merle Pomeranian, has been my loyal companion for the past 13 years. She has been by my side through college, life’s challenges, and many of my greatest joys, always providing comfort and companionship.

Willow and Josee are a sweet mother-daughter Pomeranian duo who are inseparable and love doing everything together. Our newest addition, Dutch, is an energetic and loving Blue Heeler who keeps us on our toes and is always ready for an adventure. Dutch and Kynzlee have formed an incredible bond and are nearly inseparable. Whether they are exploring the backyard, playing, or getting into a little mischief, they always have fun together.

We also have two beloved cats, Boone and Tex. While they enjoy affection on their own terms, we adore them just the same. Tex was rescued at just three weeks old after concerns about his back legs. Despite his difficult beginning, he has grown into a happy and thriving cat.
Our pets have taught us so much about compassion and unconditional love. They are truly part of our family, and we cannot imagine our home without them.

Holiday Traditions 

The holidays are some of our favorite times of the year, and Christmas holds a particularly special place in our hearts. Each year, the weekend after Thanksgiving, we gather as a family to decorate our Christmas tree and fill our home with festive decorations.

Experiencing Christmas through Kynzlee’s eyes has made the season even more meaningful. Watching her excitement grow and sharing in the magic of the lights, decorations, and holiday traditions brings us so much joy. One of our favorite traditions is wearing matching pajamas on Christmas Eve while we wait for Santa. This tradition began in my family and has become one of Kynzlee’s favorite memories. We look forward to continuing it and creating those same joyful memories with our children.

Halloween is my favorite holiday and has become a fun family celebration. Each year, we choose a family costume theme and enjoy bringing it to life together. Last year, Kynzlee was Glinda the Good Witch, while I dressed as the Wicked Witch and Lucas became the Wizard of Oz. We also love trick-or-treating through our neighborhood, visiting with neighbors, and enjoying the excitement of the evening. These traditions are filled with laughter, imagination, and memories we look forward to sharing with our children.

Make a Wish

One of the most cherished traditions in my family is celebrating birthdays in a big way. Birthdays are not just a single day in our home—they are a celebration of making each person feel loved and special.



We love making birthdays memorable and personalized. Each year, I bake a homemade birthday cake based on whatever theme Kynzlee chooses for her celebration. Whether it is a favorite character, color, or interest, the cake is made with love and designed especially for her. We also surprise her by decorating her room with streamers, balloons, and confetti so she wakes up feeling celebrated from the very start of her special day.

Travel is an important part of our lives and something we deeply value as a family. We love exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and creating lasting memories together. Some of our most treasured experiences have been traveling abroad, including celebrating my sister’s wedding in Greece and my brother’s wedding in Italy. These trips allowed us to celebrate with family while also experiencing the history, traditions, and beauty of other cultures.

We love sharing these experiences with Kynzlee and helping her develop an appreciation for the world around her. When we travel, we make it a priority to learn about the people, history, traditions, and food that make each place unique. Whether we are exploring historic sites, visiting local markets, or trying new dishes, we believe every experience offers an opportunity to learn and grow.

Travel has taught us to appreciate diversity, embrace new experiences, and approach the world with curiosity and respect. We look forward to continuing to explore and create memories as our family grows.
