Our Story

We met in 2017 and knew right away that being together felt easy, especially when we discovered on our first date that we both STRONGLY dislike onions. The night we first met, we were walking to our cars after a nice evening and discussing what kind of food we wanted to eat on our first dinner date together. Ben said, "Anything without onions." I replied with "I hate onions too!" We laughed and knew right there that this was gonna be a great adventure.

After a few years of building a life we loved, we got married on September 25th, 2021, in a beautiful brewery that had once been an old theatre. It was quirky, charming, and full of character, the perfect backdrop for a day that felt completely "us".



Today, we have a life we absolutely love. We balance each other in all the best ways, make each other laugh, and enjoy spending time together. Our journey to adoption has only strengthened our excitement to grow our family, and we look forward to sharing our life, our love, our laughter, and our wonderfully onion free home with a child who will be cherished every single day.

Our Home

Ben bought our first home in 2019; a beautiful place filled with so many "firsts" for us as a couple. As we dreamed about growing our family, we knew we wanted a home that offered more space to make new memories. In October 2024, we purchased our current house together, a three-bedroom home with a bright three season room and a yard we absolutely love. We live on a quiet dead-end road where families often take evening walks, and we love the peaceful, welcoming feel of our neighborhood. We can already picture a child riding their bike, playing in the yard, and growing up surrounded by the people who live around us. 

One of the things we love most about our community is how safe and comfortable it is for kids; they can ride their bikes around the neighborhood, explore, and enjoy the freedom that comes from growing up in a place where everyone is watching out for them. All the kids and parents wait together on the same street corner for the school bus to pick them up for school. There's a cute little park that we like to walk to and enjoy the baseball fields where kids play their tournaments. We also have a cute little animal ranch that has llamas, pigs, goats, peacocks, and other animals you can feed and learn about.

I'm very fortunate to have a loving and supportive family that is excited to welcome a child into our family. While not everyone lives in the same place, we make time for family gatherings, Holidays, and getting together whenever we can. My mom, dad, and stepmom all live nearby and are a big part of our lives. They are especially excited about becoming grandparents for the first time!

My sister lives in Texas and is also very excited about becoming an aunt. She is looking forward to building a special relationship with her niece or nephew. She works with horses, and one of the things she is most excited about is the opportunity to someday share that passion and introduce her niece or nephew to the joy of being around horses. My family also includes my stepbrother. And while we don't see each other often, we're grateful for the memories we share, and he's looking forward to finding out what being an uncle is all about.



Spending time outdoors has always been a big part of my family. My dad and I especially enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, and boating. These are things I have enjoyed throughout my life, and I look forward to sharing those experiences with a child and creating some of our own family memories along the way.

Stefani's Family

Family has always been at the center of our lives, and my older sister, with her four children, is a huge part of that. Watching my nieces and nephews grow from little kids into young adults has been one of the greatest joys. Over the years, Ben and I have been there in the stands for basketball games, volleyball matches, and a couple of wrestling meets, cheering them on, celebrating their wins.

Now, Ben and I are getting to be part of even more new chapters. Watching my nephew become a husband and father. And witnessing the others carving out their own paths with confidence and creativity.



We're also lucky to have two sets of grandparents who are deeply involved in our lives and already excited to welcome another grandchild. Each of them is wonderfully supportive and always ready to show up with love, encouragement, and a warm meal. Bringing a steady, caring presence and genuine enthusiasm for every new chapter.

Ben & Stefani - A Look Into Our Life

Our Sweet Pups

Our dogs are a big part of our lives. Our oldest boy Rausyn is 12 now, and Stefani adopted him when he was just under two. For a while it was just the two of them, a little team navigating life together, until Ben came along and immediately fell in love with his goofy, wild antics. Rausy has been part of every chapter of our relationship, and we can't image our home without him.



When we bought our first home, we knew Rausyn deserved a companion. That's when Mack joined our family, a tiny Chiweenie with a big heart. She won us over instantly with her gentle nature and snuggly personality. We love having both of them around and seeing their very different personalities. They bring a lot of fun and personality to our home, and we can't wait to see what fun they will have with a child.

Family Fun

Both of us grew up fishing with our families, and our childhoods were filled with camping trips, crackling campfires, and long days spent exploring the outdoors. As adults, we continue to enjoy fishing and camping, and weekends up north. We cannot wait to take our child on fishing trips up north and camping trips by Lake Superior. We also love going to different zoos. We went to a zoo in Colorado and got to feed giraffes. These are things we would love to share with a child and help them make beautiful memories.

Oh, the Places We’ve Been 

We are lucky to have a wide, close-knit group of friends who come from all kinds of backgrounds. They are funny, warm, and the kind of people who show up. Over the years, they have become just as much family as the ones we were born into.



Many have young children, which means any child coming into our family would have a built-in crew of playmates! There are Easter egg hunts, Bluey birthday parties, and celebrations on the horizon!

Family Traditions

With close relationships with both our families and many friends, we enjoy many traditions throughout the year that bring everyone together, and we can't wait to share them with our child.

Stefani's family has a longstanding birthday tradition where the birthday girl or boy chooses the dinner and dessert, and everyone goes around the table to share one thing they love about them or a favorite memory. It's a simple ritual, but it fills the room with laughter, gratitude, and stories that remind us how lucky we are to have such a supportive family.

Ben's family's Thanksgiving and Christmas time feel like stepping right into the heart of the holiday. Everyone gathers to cook dinner together and laughs as the house fills with all the familiar smells of the season. Football is always on in the background, and people drift in and out of the living room to cheer and tease each other about their fantasy football teams. It's loud, warm, and full of easy togetherness, and we can't wait to share that kind of joyful, all hands on deck holiday with our child.

Every New Year's Day, we celebrate with a fun little family ritual. Grasshopper drinks for the adults and mint shakes for the kids. It's a sweet, minty way to start the year together, and everyone looks forward to it.
We look forward to creating new traditions of our own as our family grows while continuing the traditions that have been special to both of us.
